Mesgana Dancers
|
Mesgana Dancers are a small part of a program known as the Children of Ethiopia Education Fund ( COEEF) which was founded by Norm and Ruthann Perdue in 2001 to improve the lives and futures of girls in Ethiopia. There are now over 800 hundred students who are beneficiaries of this initiative.
Mesgana Dancers live and go to school in Ethiopia. The dance routines they perform is one of the extracurricular activities offered by the program. Their first overseas tour in the summer of 2006 was such an amazing success that a repeat plan for 2007 is currently underway. Included in their summer of 2007 tour will be a performance at the San Jose Ethiopian Millennium Enqutatash celebration on September 8-9. Tour details are being worked out for Washington DC, Chicago , Minneapolis, Wisconsin , Denver, Utah , Boston, San Diego and Los Angeles.
